Arrived in New York safe and sound after the best flight of my life! i got bumped up to business class :) so a great start to the trip! I celebrated by ordering some champagne before making my chair into a bed to settle down and watch the films!

This first week has been so frantic with trying to organise my life out here, i've not had much time yet to be a tourist but my halls oh sorry, my "dorms" are really close to times square and the empire state building so i'm very central. It's a campus uni so I study, eat and sleep all on one road, life has never been so easy!

I've picked some good subjects to study like photography, bookbinding and screen printing, classes start on monday so i'm making the most of this weekend off! We went out last night and couldn't resist ordering a cosmopolitan! amazing!! But Emma and I are both feeling it now!

We went on a really long walk the other day to get to know the city a bit better, we started at the high line garden which is an old freight train track that has been redeveloped very cool, then went onto greenwich village and bleecker street where Simon and Garfunkel lived and stopped at the famous magnolia bakery, we treated ourselves to cup cakes and homemade lemonade and sat listening to a jazz band in a park. We walked on through Soho and Washington square where we got tempted into lots of cool little vintage and record shops. (very dangerous!!) We ended up in Little Italy where I had a large helping of meatballs! I'm going to come back very poor and 2 stone heavier at this rate!

Ok, so here goes...my first ever blog! Well...I'm getting out of London for a short while and moving out to New York to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology! I'm out there for the 'fall semester' so i'll be back in time for Christmas. I'd usually be going back to Chelsea to start my second year on the Graphic Design course but instead won the chance to go on this exchange. Here is the piece of work i submitted to make it all happen!
